| October 2009 Issue | I Am a Changed Man! 
Those of you who know me well, know that I am not a person who makes attention-grabbing claims. The attention and flattery of men profit nothing. You also know that I am very cautious in all things, but particularly concerning spiritual experiences. However, when I know I have heard from the Lord, I am as bold as a lion, and won't back down one inch to satisfy the Devil. Early on the morning of September 14th--just a few days ago--the Lord woke me up from a sound sleep and began ministering to me. What the Lord showed me in a vision, I am not releasing to the public. We have had far too much emphasis placed on visions in Charismatic circles. As the opportunity arises, I am sharing the experience in private with seasoned ministers of the Gospel I trust, and asking them to judge it, and to pray for me. Every minister so far has judged the experience as biblical, and encouraged me in it. I may eventually share the matter publicly, if I can think of a decent and orderly way to do it such that Jesus Christ is glorified. We'll see. The vision the Lord gave me on September 14th has done far more than put a new boldness in me. This goes way beyond boldness. A ferocity I have never known before has arisen in my spirit in the areas of prayer, preaching and healing. I am a changed man. I am looking forward very much to seeing the fresh and powerful things God does in upcoming meetings. I'm asking you to pray for me. Goodwin Copyrighted Recording Recording Length: 39 minutes Live Stream Recording Description: Recorded in 1969, the recording begins with message in tongues by Sister Goodwin, and one by a member of the congregation, both interpreted by Rev. J.R. Goodwin. Sister Goodwin then shares a testimony and describes the operation of the Word of Knowledge that operated in her in a previous service in which various diseases, conditions, and distresses were revealed to her concerning people in the audience. She actually felt in her own body the conditions that others were suffering with. She speaks of scriptures God had recently quickened to her from the Book of Jude. The Goodwins pulled no punches when warning their congregation about the dangers of sin. Sister Goodwin adds the following comment about homosexuality: "That's a snake, and it's from the Devil. It's slimy . . . Out of the slime-pits of Hell--that's where it's from. That Devil is creeping, lurking, and hiding in every spot he can get into."--Sister Goodwin.
She speaks of the rioting that was going on in the USA at the time, and drew a parallel with the signs of the Last Days. Sister Goodwin speaks a couple of brief messages in tongues in the midst of her testimony, and interprets them herself. Another message in tongues follows from a woman in the congregation, interpreted by Dad Goodwin. Dad Goodwin preaches on the difference between passive and active faith, giving also a strong exhortation to holiness. Among his comments: "Christianity is a life of holiness, purity unto God, walking in the Spirit of God, and refusing the way of the flesh."--J.R. Goodwin "Active faith moves things... Rev. Goodwin also comments on some unusual signs and wonders that were being reported on at the time in Berlin, Germany and in Port Naches, Texas. | New Gospel Music Recording: Sister Elizabeth was talking with me the other day, and mentioned something that I have also noticed. She said that so much of the Christian music today, does nothing for her, and she notices that once many songs are finished, she has no inspiration to prophesy or speak in tongues and interpret. I can bear witness to this also. Certain modern Christian songs do minister to me, and the Spirit of Prophecy begins to stir within me. But the songs that stir the anointing in me the strongest are ones that exalt Jesus Christ, Calvary, the Blood, and also old-time songs like this recording of "Hallelujah, I am Saved!" This song tells the whole Gospel story. It moves me so deeply that in just playing it, and transcribing the words for this newsletter, I was seized twice by strong weeping, and the healing anointing stirred in my hands, as I thought on the goodness of God, and the power of simple, child-like faith in Jesus Christ. This type of music is a part of our Pentecostal heritage, which I believe, we need to reclaim and recapture. Recorded in 1961 by Lahoma Butler, it is in a country music format. Amen! Rev. Mark Blackburn, who was healed in a William Branham meeting when he was four years old, and later developed into a substantial healing ministry of his own, sent me this recording made by his friend Lahoma Butler. I greatly appreciate Brother Mark for sharing this recording with us. Mark e-mailed me: Husband and wife, Glen and Lahoma Butler and their family traveled to many churches and sang and were very blessed. They were saved in the late 1940's in a revival with Rev. Henry Skinner and remained with the church all their lives. Lahoma and 2 of her daughters, Shirley and Bonnie were down with TB in the 1950's in a hospital in New Albany, Indiana, and God healed all of them miraculously. Glen was in the coal and ice buisness and dropped a 100 pound block of ice on his foot and broke it. He was in a great deal of pain but he said God impressed him to come to church. He got up and sang, I don't remember which song for sure but the presence of God came on him and he lept from the platform and sat on the altar and unwrapped the bandages and his foot was instantly healed. I have tried to remember when this song came to Lahoma, but I can't. Perhaps I can find out the story from her daughter. All that I can remember is that I started going as a little boy and the church was dedicated on January 1, 1949 and I believe the song was written shortly after that. She and her husband Glen sang and the glory of God filled all the house. I remember that whenever they would sing that song, God always moved.

A "Secret" No More! Schedule Change: More and more people in neighboring states are finding out about Rev. Elizabeth Pruitt-Sloan's monthly Holy Spirit meetings and are driving to Collinsville, OK from great distances. People come from Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and some are driving in from as far as 500 and 600 miles away. | A Word From Brother Mel: Hello Friends and Ministry Partners, The days we live in are indeed incredible, aren't they? It is as though millions of ordinary people have joined a cult, and there is no reasoning with them. As I share in my book, "Preparing to Welcome the Anti-Christ," the Wicked are sinking deeper into darkness, with their hardened hearts preparing to welcome their lord, the Anti-Christ. Judging by how wicked the Wicked are becoming, the Coming of the Lord, and the later appearing of the Anti-Christ cannot be too far hence. As an example of the degenerating state of the Wicked, one need look no further than Hollywood's response to the arrest of Roman Polanski. One would think with the brutal murder of his wife, Sharon Tate back in the 1960's by the Manson fanatics, Mr. Polanski would be acutely sensitive to the suffering of another innocent person. Not so. Instead, only a few years after his wife's murder, Roman drugged and raped a 12-year old girl, pleaded guilty, and then fled the country. He has been living outside of US jurisdiction for approximately 30 years. Recently, he traveled to Switzerland to receive some sort of honor or award, and was arrested by Swiss authorities. He is in the process of being extradited back to the US to face his crimes. Hollywood's response? Major Hollywood celebrities are outraged at his arrest. An example of the callousness of "tolerant" Hollywood are the comments of comedian Whoopi Goldberg. She claims the crime wasn't "rape-rape"--whatever that means. She adds, "the girl knew what she was doing!" Did she? Do we now lower the age of consensual sex to 12? Let's look at an alternate scenario: Suppose that Roman Polanski had suffered the grief of his wife's death and then turned to Jesus Christ for the salvation, cleansing, and healing that only He can provide. Suppose also that Mr. Polanski had spent the last 30 years preaching throughout Europe the Gospel of forgiveness and healing through Jesus Christ, raping no one. What would have been the reaction of Whoopi Goldberg and the rich and clueless of Hollywood? They would have condemned him as a fanatic. However, he drugged and raped a child, so Goldberg and Hollywood salute him! Why? They are fulfilling the scripture which Paul wrote: They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. The result-- Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.--Rom. 1:29-31 and 31. NIV.
If you think only on the darkness that surrounds us and seems to increase nearly by the hour, you could become deeply discouraged. However, I would like to ask you to listen to, and consider something, the Lord said recently. At Sister Elizabeth's Holy Spirit meeting in September, the Lord inspired me to speak out a prophecy which I have entitled, "Darkness in Egypt, but Light in Goshen." The recording begins with me praying for the individuals who were scheduled to be ordained later in that service, and at the end of the prayer, I speak out the prophecy. It brought great comfort to us all, and I believe it will comfort and exhort you also: After the prophecy, Sister Elizabeth preaches her message on "Holy Spirit Inspired Prayer." Yes, we are living in the Last Days. However, we are not alone. The Lord Almighty is with us, and will walk with us through every challenge until that Trumpet sounds, the Eastern sky splits, we see the Son of God, we are caught up to be with him in the air, and ever shall we be with the Lord! Please remember in prayer our armed services members of the United States of America, and of whatever country you life in also. I pray for them every day, for our President, and for all of you.
