Prophecies and Visions "Why Doesn't Somebody Say Something!" August 16, 2007 I had just written a series of articles entitled, "Why Did the Glory Leave Us?" These articles contained a great number of stern corrections. So much so, that I hesitated to publish them. Never the less, I was preparing to upload them and publish them on this website the next day, and overnight God gave me a dream. The Dream In the dream, there were well-known ministers, but I will not use their names. I'll just refer to their offices. This dream was not critical of them, but if I use their names publicly, it could appear as though I were criticizing them and I am not. So, I won't use their names.
I dreamed that a healing evangelist had opened some kind of new ministry branch in a major city. It was on the 30th floor of a building, and would be lit up at night so that the entire city could see it. The healing evangelist decided to have a dedication service to dedicate this new ministry venture, and he invited a well-known prophet to be the guest speaker.
The service began, and the prophet walked up to the pulpit to begin his sermon. He saw me sitting in the first or second row. Just as our eyes met, I signaled him that I had a message in tongues. He knew I had something from the Lord so he waved for me to come forward. He went over to the side of the platform and sat down, thinking that I was going to perhaps give a sermon or a lengthy exhortation.
I went up on the platform, and went to the prophet and whispered to him, "I have a message in tongues. If I give it, will you interpret it?" And he replied, "Yeah, go ahead."
So I took the microphone. I didn't know what all of the message was about, but I knew it would be centered around the scripture, ". . . For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory . . ." II Cor. 4:17. I knew I was to tell people that God was already working in their lives, and what He was doing was designed to bring about in them "an exceeding and eternal weight of Glory."
I began to make a preliminary comment or two while waiting for the unction to speak in tongues to come so I could give the specific message. Just then, a bus of tourists pulled up and unloaded a big crowd of Christians right into the middle of the service. They poured out of the bus. Some were in choir robes. They were all jubuliant, chattering with each other. One of the female choir members wanted to demonstrate to everyone how wonderfully her choir's voices harmonized, so she began singing the song, "I'm Singin' in the Rain!" Their voices were beautiful. But that song was utterly unrelated to what God was desiring to do in that servcie. The crowd was noisy, and confusion was the only result. None of them even realized that they were interrupting a church service, and were interfering with what God was trying to do.
I was irritated with the prophet and the healing evangelist. Why didn't one of them tell those people that they were interrupting a church service, and that they needed to sit down and allow God to continue on with what He wanted to do? Several minutes passed, and the prophet and the healing evangelist said nothing, and made no effort to correct the confusion. Then I awoke.
I laid in bed for several minutes, praying and asking the Lord what that all meant. The dream had such a strong anointing in it, but I wasn't perceiving what God wanted me to know. I even got up and looked up that scripture. But God said nothing further.
Most of the day passed. I kept thinking on the dream.
Then that evening I was talking with a fellow who has a prophetic calling. He mentioned to me that God uses him alot in dream interpretation. Later in the conversation, I ended up sharing with him the dream God had given me.
He said, "the only thing that sticks out to me is that I don't believe you are using the authority God has given you." Initially, I was skeptical of this interpretation. Then I realized, "Wait a minute! I was waiting on the prophet and the healing evangelist to correct that crowd . . . But I was the only one who had a microphone. Neither one of them had microphones."
Now this doesn't mean that I am going to appoint myself to be the one to correct everybody else. Only God stands in that position. However, I do believe that God is calling me to say some things that need to be said. And I will try to say them in as loving, and as balanced a way as possible. But I am going to speak.
I'm trying to walk a fine line between not saying enough, and saying too much. I am no Martin Luther. But if Luther had said, "The corrupt religious leaders of our day are basically for Christ, so I am just going to be nice, and not mention anything about their corruption, excesses, and false teachings," would there have been a Protestant Reformation? I doubt it. I've seen a number of ministers over the years get off into fighting their ministry brothers and attacking them publicly by name. God is never in that. I am not fighting my brethren. If I were, I would name names. I am refuting excesses. I will not through silence give the appearance that I approve of the sin, misconduct, and error that is hindering what God really wants to do in us.
The funny thing is, based on the e-mails I receive through this website, I think that many WOF and Charismatics already see the excesses, and are waiting for someone to have the nerve to say out loud what we all are privately admitting. The message I believe God gave me through this dream was that He has given me "a microphone," and He expects me to use this website and public meetings to address the confusion, and set it aside, so that He can do what He is wanting to do in our midst. I'm going to say what needs to be said. Will you stand with me? Copyright 2007 Mel C. Montgomery All Rights Reserved. This material may not be copied without my written permission.
