Recordings of the Faith Giants

F. F. Bosworth

Healing Evangelist

(1877 - 1958)

Fred Francis Bosworth was healed of tuberculosis at a young age.  He and his family moved to Zion Illinois and attended John Alexander Dowie's church.  Bosworth embraced the Pentecostal Outpouring and was filled with the Spirit in meetings held by Charles Parham.  He attended meetings at the Azusa Street Mission during that great revival.

F. F. Bosworth evenutally developed into a substantial healing ministry and held great meetings around the world in the 1920s and 1930s.  He wrote the classic, "Christ the Healer."  Bosworth came out of retirement in the 1940s to mentor a young Oral Roberts, T.L. Osborn, and William Branham.

Marie Brown

Church Founder

(1880 - 1971)

Marie pioneered the historic Glad Tidings Tabernacle in New York City in 1907.  She later married Robert Brown, and he joined her in pastoring the church.  Marie and Robert ministered side by side, leading countless multitudes into salvation and the baptism in the Holy Spirit.  Glad Tidings Tabernacle was a prominent Pentecostal church for decades in New York City.  Smith Wigglesworth, the Jeffreys Brothers, Howard Carter, and Donald Gee all ministered in this church to the Glory of God.

W.F.P. Burton

Apostle

(1886 - 1971)

WFP Burton was a Brittish Pentecostal missionary to Africa.  Along with James Salter, Smith Wigglesworth's son-in-law, he raised up a mighty work in the Belgian Congo. Known affectionately as God's "Tramp Preacher," he tramped through jungles, waded through swamps, and walked across a wilderness to raise up a work that saw great signs, wonders, miracles, and many people come to the Lord.  Burton was truly a modern apostle, with all the signs and fruit of that office.

Howard Carter

Apostle and Prophet

(1891 - 1971)

Howard Carter of London, England originated much of the teachings about the gifts of the Spirit that are commonly taught in Charismatic circles today.  He helped to pioneer the Assemblies of God in England and chaired conventions at which his friend Smith Wigglesworth preached. He took a young Lester Sumrall under his wing, and traveled the world with Sumrall.  Howard and Ruth Carter ministered at the Goodwins' church in the 1960s, and felt a great kinship with Mom and Dad Goodwin.  Lester Sumrall wrote of his mentor, Howard Carter, that he was "a man of whom the world was not worthy."

David Du Plessis

(1905 - 1987)

Smith Wigglesworth prophesied to David in 1936 that God would one day use him to bring a renewed understanding of the baptism in the Holy Spirit and spiritual gifts to the old-line denominations and to the Roman Catholic Church.  The Lord fulfilled this prophetic word beginning in the 1950s, opening doors for David to minister in these circles, thus birthing a new move of God.  That move was called the Charismatic Renewal.  Members of the old-line denominational churches and the Roman Catholic Church came to so love and appreciate Du Plessis for ministering to them, that they gave him the affectionate title of "Mr. Pentecost."

Stanley Frodsham

Prophet, Teacher, Intercessor

(1882-1969)

Known affectionately as God's "Prophet With a Pen," Stanley Frodsham was an early Pentecostal leader of note.  He was close friends with Howard Carter and other early leaders.  He helped to pioneer the Assemblies of God, and edited all their publications through the early years. He wrote "Apostle of Faith," the first biography of his friend, Smith Wigglesworth.  In 1965, Stanley Frodsham gave forth a sobering prophecy warning of coming deception among believers.  We feature on this site his recordings and prophecy.

Rev and Mrs. J. R. Goodwin

Affectionately referred to as "Mom and Dad" Goodwin by those of us who knew them, the Goodwins attended the meetings of Smith Wigglesworth in the 1930s.  In 1938 they met a young Kenneth Hagin Sr. and took him under their wing, teaching him about spiritual gifts and prophetic ministry.  John Osteen was filled with the Spirit in Mom and Dad Goodwin's living room and preached his first Charismatic sermons from their pulpit. The Goodwins also mentored or spoke into the lives of: Billye Brim, Buddy and Pat Harrison, Marilyn Hickey, Larry Huggins, Elizabeth Pruitt-Sloan, and Mel Montgomery.

Dr. Harold Horton

University Professor

1881-1969

This Brittish Pentecostal taught at Howard Carter's Bible School for years and helped Carter write the classic, "Questions and Answers on Spiritual Gifts."  Although he has the appearance of a dour theologian, Lester Sumrall wrote that Horton was so well known for his shouts of "Hallelujah" that his friends called him, "Hallelujah Horton."  His sermon, "The Naked Splendour of the Cross," is a masterpiece.
