Ministry Update:
We have been contacted by a major Charismatic media entity that has tentatively agreed to do a feature on this site and the recordings we offer. Final discussions are to take place in early February. Praise the Lord.
Also, plans are being made for meetings in 2008. I look forward to meeting some of you if we can schedule meetings in your area.

I did an internet search of "Brother Mel" and "Mel Montgomery" and was surprised to find that there are a number of Brother Mel's out there. To distinguish myself from the others and to set the record straight, let me tell you that I am not the "Brother Mel" that:
Is Catholic
Is 79 years old
Is an oil-painting artist of religious objects
Owns a barbecue restaurant in Fort Collins, CO
Lived in 1808
Sings old Frankie Avalon songs
Drove stock cars
Nor am I the Australian wrestler known as "Mad Mel Montgomery"
I'm just:
the young (48)
dashing (in the morning shaving mirror with my glasses off)
minister
who is not rich (alas!)
still single (alas! alas! Please don't introduce me to your sister)
who ministers where invited, (no telethon invitaitons yet)
and who writes website articles, (sometimes forgetting spellcheck)
for which I have been called:
"an insightful prophetic writer," (thanks!)
a "fraud artist who should be dragged of to jail," (Gosh!)
and a "self-proclaimed watchdog." (where did I proclaim this?)
Bottom line though is, I'm just a guy sharing with you my thoughts, teachings, and rare recordings, endeavoring to provide principles that you can apply in your own life and ministry.

New Recordings: Howard Carter
I received a very kind e-mail a few days ago from Howard Carter's grandson. He told me that he has visited this site, and that it was wonderful to hear his grandparents' voices again. He wrote also that he and his family are very pleased with us making his grandparents recordings available to the world. And we give God the praise.
These new Howard Carter recordings come from the Britton Collection and were recorded in the final years of Brother Carter's life. In these recordings Carter teaches and also shares some amusing and heart-warming details of his own life. Click below to hear:

A Closing Word From Brother Mel:
Hello Friends and Partners,
Sister Goodwin said to me one time, "Mel, you write me very intelligent letters. And I can tell from them that you embrace some things that I do not embrace. But . . . that's . . . OK." That statement gave me the liberty to learn from her, draw from her, and find my own applications for what she taught me. Likewise, I'm giving you alot to read this time, and if you read enough of my writings you will eventually come to something that you don't see in quite the way that I do. But, that's OK. Please just give these writings your consideration and draw from them the principles you find helpful.
If you have time to listen to or read only one thing from this newsletter, then listen to "I Make All Things New." When you do, you'll be reminded that although God wants us to prosper, ministry is not supposed to be about luxury automoblies, condos in Trump Tower, and rich preachers lavishing luxurious gifts on each other. It is about Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
I feel sometimes like the prophet Micaiah in I Kings Chapter 22. Four hundred other prophets who claimed to speak for Jehovah, all prophesied success and victory to Ahab. Micaiah prophesied disaster and death. It was a challenge for Micaiah to be contradicted 400 to 1. One of the other prophets even slapped Micaiah across the face.
Comparing some of the recent Charismatic teachings with scripture shows me that some of our teachings have been taken to ridiculous extremes. Few leaders are acknowledging this though. The Lord has also said by prophecy that He is correcting us and our leaders. For sharing this word publicly, like Micaiah, I've received a few [verbal] slaps across the face in a series of e-mails from one preacher rebuking me and reminding me "touch not Mine anointed."
No, I'm not kidding.
I was so amazed by this preacher's reaction. Things are fine and getting better by the moment. Don't question. Don't think. Don't dare touch God's anointed. They are beyond questioning and above giving an account or explaining anything. As I tried to reason with him, facts, logic, scriptures made no impression on him. There was absolutely no reasoning with him. It was like he had been brainwashed, and could no longer even think for himself. I've decided it was best not to bless him with any more of my articles. :)
But the ministers I know and respect, and also many of you, are e-mailing me and telling me that I'm saying and writing things that have needed to be said and written for a long time. Thank you for your expressions of support.
In January we will celebrate the one year anniversary of starting this website. With this anniversary will come again the yearly renewal fees for domain names, website hosting charges, and so on. I appreciate very much those of you who have sown towards the costs of this website. If you haven't sown financially into this website before, please consider doing so now. We are sowing these recordings and articles into many lives in 62 countries now, and are bearing good fruit.
