Martin Luther

In 1517 an obscure German monk by the name of Martin Luther nailed his 96 Theses (objections) to the door of the Wittenburg Church.  His  reputation was ruined, he was excommunicated, and his life was threatened.  But his act of confronting the errors and excesses of his day sparked the Protestant Reformation, lighting Holy fires that burned around the globe, removing errors and destroying man-made religious traditions and structures.  In the same manner, we must again nail the scriptures and sound doctrine back on the church door of our day, rebuking the errors and excesses that are so common, and call on God to forgive us, cleanse us, renew us, and revive us again that we may proclaim the Gospel of Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit to a lost and dying humanity.

Psalm:

     I want to share with you this month a Psalm the Lord gave me back in the early 1980's.  At the time this psalm came to me by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, I had endured an extended conversation with a believer who had every excuse in the world for not actually obeying God in any substantial way in his life.  About an hour after our conversation ended, this Psalm came rolling up out of my grieved spirit.  I did not compose this.  In my spirit I saw these words appear before me, and I simply wrote them down as the Lord gave them to me.  This is a sober psalm of warning:

     The Lord revealed Himself and His ways to the prophet Elijah in the cave on Mount Horeb.  If we Charismatics will allow ourselves to learn from what was demonstrated to Elijah, we will leave the superficial spiritual things behind and press through into the same kind of spiritual power that Elijah had.

     Recently I have received an avalanche of testimonies from around the world.  I would like to share some of these moving testimonies with you.  I have removed the names and any confidential information and have sometimes listed their locations only in general terms:

Brother Mel,

     I pastor a church in a small town [in the USA].  I too am Charismatic/WOF.  I graduated from an accredited bible school and trained under a wonderful pastor.  I got saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at a meeting headed by Joe Jordan . . . To make a long story short I trained with a pastor for years.

 
     I too began to feel in my spirit that there were too many "extremes" being taught, that many central truths were being manipulated and twisted.  I realized that many "PROPHETIC" ministries turned the focus of the people to the minister rather than the Holy Ghost.  As I have been pastoring and teaching this congregation for about a year now the Lord has directed me to stress the importance of balance.  I almost felt guilty for some of the things that I was preaching UNTIL I began to read your articles and they confirmed the messages that I have been preaching!!  Thank you for your obedience.  I have to fight tears as I type this because in this area many WOF preachers deem you religious and condemning if you even mention the thought of holy living.  I have been hearing the cry for reformation in my spirit as well . . . Thank you and God Bless . . .

     Today was the first time I have ever heard of you.  I was listenting to a combined sermon of you and Pastor Sloan called "The Blood of  Obedience".  I was mightly blessed.  I am glad that you are removing scales from those who are confused by deception. I read some of your articles concerning errors in theology causing the body of Christ to stumble.  Thank You.  I was once a liberal. In other words I was deceived. Dear Ministry Partners and Friends,

     Hallelujah!

     Did you realize that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever?  That means he is still the same sickness-healing, devil-casting-out, miracle-working, yoke destroying Savior and Healer today that he was back in Bible days!  Don't allow the hype, immorality, and extremes that are so common today in ministry to rob you of a vibrant and life-giving relationship with your Savior and Lord.

     I've got news for you!

     Here's a newsflash:  Satan is a Liar. 

     He is an absolute, bare-faced liar.  Don't listen to him. 

     Don't believe him when he tells you God doesn't care about you, that God's forgotten you, that you won't make it, and that there's no hope.  There's always hope as long as Jesus Christ is on the Throne.  And Brother and Sister, Christ is on the Throne permanently.  And the Bible tells us that Satan is defeated permanently.  Satan gets up every day with a king-sized headache from where Christ slugged him 2,000 years ago at Calvary.  The Devil is the one who has no hope!  He is the one who has a bleak future.  All the Devil has to face every day is the fact that before much longer he will be cast into the Bottomless Pit for a thousand years, then pulled out, and thrown forever into the Lake that burneth with fire and brimstone.  Pretty sad future!  If he wasn't so evil, you would almost feel sorry for him.  Almost.

     Keep walking by faith.  Keep your trust and faith in the God who hears and answers prayer.  Keep your eyes fixed unwaveringly on Calvary.  All things are possible to him that believeth.

     My goodness, it is difficult to update you on all that is going on.  Numerous new people have subscribed to our newsletter recently.  There have been contacts from Christian media people who are finding out about what we are doing through this website.  Among other things, a Christian media person has sought me out to interview me in the next few days for his radio program which will later be broadcast world-wide.  Take that, Devil!  He can dish it out, but he can't take it.     

     The testimonies I've shared with you in this newsletter have touched me deeply, and I thank those of you who sent them.  It still amazes me when I get e-mails from Europe, Asia, and from other far reaches of the earth, from people telling me that they have been blessed by the materials on this website.  We will soon have over 900,000 hits.  Within six weeks we will break through the million-hit mark.  The Devil said it couldn't be done.  Through the three long years that Don and Beverly Davis worked with the master tapes of the Goodwin recordings taking them from reel to reel to modern sound formats, the Devil said it was all pointless.  He said no one would care about these recordings.  He said that no one would listen.  But the Lord brought those recordings into my hands, and we shared them with the world.  You know what?  Satan has been proven a liar once again--900,000 times over!  And soon we'll rejoice in proving him a liar a million times over when we break through the million-hit mark.  To God be the glory for the great things He has done, and is doing.

     God has put some new things inside me, and is changing the direction of my ministry somewhat.  He's put a new strength and a new boldness in me.  For those of you who pray for me and this ministry regularly, I would like to ask you to simply pray for me to have God's wisdom as we step forward in some new directions.  I'll share details later.  

     I would like for you to know that along with praying daily for our President and our armed service members and those of our allies, I pray also for you who have contacted me and those of you who have become financial partners with this ministry.  I pray for you to be healed, for God to meet your needs, and for Him to visit you in whatever area of life you need His help.

     You know what?  It is time for you and I to take possession of our Promised Land.  We are children of the King!  It is entirely fitting and proper for us  have the best, eat the best, live in the best, drive the best, and to use all of that to serve God, to witness and preach the Gospel, to give to the poor, and to break yokes of bondage off of others.  Can somebody say Amen?  We need to do like Abraham did.  God told him to climb up on a mountain, to look in every direction, and to believe and receive all the land that God planned to give him.  

    You may ask, "Brother Mel, are you starting to preach the Extreme Prosperity Message?"  Absolutely not!  I don't preach that mess.  But God is on our side.  And He does want us to prosper and be in health even as our soul prospereth.  So I believe in preaching a positive and uplifting message of hope.  But I'll make it plain to you right now:  you will not prosper by sending me or some healing evangelist or prophet a big fat check.  It doesn't work that way.  You'll prosper by applying the principles I lay out in "God's True Laws of Financial Prosperity."  Namely, diligent work, saving, making wise decisions, intelligent use of debt, giving to God so that others can be reached, and so on.  When you do prosper, sow a donation into this ministry if we have been of help to you and if you believe in what we are doing.  For those of you who choose to give into this ministry, I want you to know that we are going to take every penny you give and use it in whatever manner is necessary to get these recordings and articles out to as many people around the world as we can possibly reach through this website and in meetings in local churches so that they can hear solid and balanced messages and so that they can be blessed and set free. 

     We will also support and encourage people to attend meetings and the services of ministers where God is moving, where sound doctrine is adhered to, where things are done in an orderly fashion, and where people are not shook down for every penny in their pockets.  Some meetings that meet these criteria are Sister Elizabeth's Holy Ghost meetings.  If you have known me or followed my ministry for any length of time, you know I am not a flatterer.  I don't butter people up in order to further myself in ministry in some way.  I just tell the truth as best I know it.  And I'm telling you the truth now--God is doing some strong things in Sister Elizabeth's monthly Holy Ghost meetings.  If you are within reasonable driving distance of North Tulsa Oklahoma, you need to take your needs and what you are praying to God about, come to the meeting, and allow yourself to be prayed for.  Sister Elizabeth's Holy Ghost meetings just keep increasing in depth and unction.  I always attend if my schedule permits.  When you come, introduce yourself to me before or after the service.
