RE: Rev. Mel Montgomery Although I have only known Mel (personally) for a couple of years, my acquaintance with him is far greater. Here is the story of my connection with Mel. My mother and dad were Texans, living at the time of his passing in Longview, TX. After his death in September of 79, mom decided to make a change in her residence. So in 1980 she moved to the Tulsa, OK, area (where my only brother lived). Mom moved to a suburb of Tulsa, namely, Broken Arrow.
There were at least three advantages accomplished by this move to Broken Arrow, OK. 1) Mom was geographically close enough to my brother and his family so as not to feel isolated, and 2) she was geographically close to her dearest friends, Oretha and Ken Hagin, and 3) an important third advantage was, she was able to minister to, and become a "spiritual parent of," some of the students attending Ken Hagin's school (Rhema Bible School). One of her favorite "spiritual kids" was Mel Montgomery. Mom and Mel developed this close spiritual relationship in the early 80s. What was my role? It was my responsibility to "keep an eye" on my widowed mother, so to speak. So in one sense, I became acquainted with Mel in what one could call a "once removed" relationship. (That's the reason for my earlier statement that I have only known Mel [in person] for a couple or years, but it seems like many more because of our long time "once-removed" association).
I recommend Mel to readers with great pride. I’m proud to be associated with the Rev. Mel Montgomery. Although Mel and I now have, and will probably continue to have, theologically differing views on some subjects, our friendship and spiritual association is not negatively affected. Mel, in my opinion, is a gentleman with class and integrity. He does his best to present the view he thinks most closely represents what Scripture teaches. Mel’s honesty and determination in presenting what he considers truth, is beyond question. And most of all, I want to thank Mel for continuing, in a special way, the teachings of my parents - - Mom and Dad Goodwin. FROM: Dr. Charles Goodwin President of the Original Word Publishers, Inc. You are so correct. Dad and Papa and Mama Goodwin were very close friends. Dad spoke at Papa Goodwin’s funeral and in her last years Mama Goodwin was a member of my church and I had the priviledge of speaking at her funeral. I am sill friends with Charles David although we do not see each other much any more.

Mel, I have enjoyed reading through the great stories of these great spiritual leaders. I had the pleasure of meeting and ministering with Mom Goodwin on several occassions.
The strong current of the Gifts of the Spirit was sometimes unexplainable. Would love to see that flow again.

Dear Mel, We went to church with the Goodwins when our children were little. We loved it. They were our good friends and tremendous shepherds. They helped us to know how to pastor. Love, Dodie Sister Dodie Osteen (Co-Founder of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas now pastored by her son Joel Osteen). |

Dear Brother Mel,
Thank you so very much for your tremendous work in gathering and presenting these awesome materials. I have been particularly blessed by the audio recordings, and especially the demonstrations of the Holy Spirit through Bro. & Sis. Goodwin in tongues and interpretation of tongues.
Although I never met the Goodwins personally, my dear friend Rev. Joe Jordan has shared them with me through his precious recollections of them. I consider it an honor to have been able to learn from Bro. Joe some of the things he learned from the Goodwins, and to receive impartation through him of this rich spiritual heritage.
For over 15 years I have taught Pentecostal/Charismatic History and Heritage in various Bible Colleges and Institutes. Now I am looking forward to sharing the anointed ministry of the Goodwins with my future classes.
Again, thank you Bro. Mel for the awesome contribution you are making to the Body of Christ in general, and Pentecostal/Charismatic believers specifically.
May God's Richest and Best be vitally yours as you fulfill your Divine Destiny!
In Jesus' Love,

As a young minister, having served one year in pastoral ministry, Bro. Mel's site and e-mails have been a wonderful blessing to me-in encouragement, advice and much more. The Faith message has always appealed to me, but there has, if we are honest, a lot of fluff (and worse!) too. Bro. Mel points us to some wonderful men and women of God and continues in their spiritual legacy as he adresses contemporary ministry, issues and teaching through both Scriputure and a genuine prophetic gifting. Bro. Mel, I know that you are very busy, and appreciate your guidance and support. I hope to see much new content added to your site, but I respect your patience, and wisdom, in speaking only when God releases you to share. From Great Britain: I would just like to say from the UK what a wonderful ministry Brother Mel has developed. He always appears to find the time to answer an email or encourage or indeed teach, which he is very gifted at.
Thanks Brother for your heart of compassion, and your joy in sharing the treasures you have discovered in the scriptures over the years. I appreciate you so much, sorry for all my questions !!
I have met and been prayed for by many nationally known ministers, but you know what counts at the end of the day - Being genuine.
Brother Mel - as we say in England - Cheers !

| Thank you Mel for the in-depth study into the gift of tongues. I am currently praying and seeking wisdom from God on this very controversial subject.

| Brother Mel, I wish to thank you for indexing your articles. While I have barely scratched the surface in reading them, over time, I am sure I will look at every one. This is very much well done. Blessings, Jonathan Krems Oklahoma City, OK USA |
Thank you for this information. I’ve been experiencing a great desire to know the full blessing God has and I desire to share this knowledge with others so more and more will have a greater understanding how to walk with all that God has for us. Deep in my heart I know so many of us hold back the hand of God in our lives. We walk in partial obedience and thus only receive a partial blessing. We neglect the hard work but want the reward for the hard work. I don’t believe prosperity is limited to financial means. I think you can prosper in the annointing, wisdom, understanding, and I want the whole blessing not just part. May God bless you as you continue to share the truths that will cause greater growth within the body.

Rev. Mel, Thank you so much for your efforts and tireless energies in bringing to light the validity of speaking in tongues and their interpretation. Many Christians, including myself, have mistakenly taken our eyes off this great gift. Your work has been a tremendous benefit to me personally and can be to all the followers of Christ. I wish you well and God bless. Samuel Frisco, TX USA |
| I was delighted to find such a well thought out and concisely constructed treatment of the gift of speaking in tongues. I do not have the gift of tongues, but was recently exposed to my first experience of a person speaking in tongues during a church service. I have been researching this topic since then, out of curiosity since then, and received a great blessing of clarity through your article. Thank you and may God bless.

I enjoyed reading that and still like Kenneth E. Hagins books and teachings today. I agree that that was a wonderful partnership the Lord formed and I too enjoyed hearing about Brother Goodwin from Brother Hagin. Bill Walters |
Thanks very much for this. This is one of the best articles I have ever read. Much Love, Zack |
| From the country of Albania: Hi Brother Mel, I want to tell how much I have been blessed by this ministry of yours through Jesus Christ. Before I found your web site I was in a deep spiritual hunger for hearing a powerful preaching full of the living word. But it seemed that I could not find it. I had heard a lot form Derek Prince's teachings and been blessed a lot and heard David Wilkerson and been really blessed by him but still had a deep hunger for a genuine preaching. So while I was navigating one day in the internet I found your website and how you been blessed by staying with Mom Goodwin whom together with her husband have been in the ministry and had known Smith Wigglesworth from near and that gave me a big assurance that this is really a big thing, a real blessing from the Lord that I was given. First of all I thank our Lord Jesus Christ for his goodness and then I thank Brother Mel Montgomery for giving all these mp3 preachings free to the Body of Christ. I have been and continue to be blessed in a big measure by the goodwins always when I hear them preach. There are three things that I have been blessed. One is that always when Mom Goodwin would speak in tongues a spirit of praise comes to me and I start praising the Lord. Next thing is that by JR Goodwin I have taken a big security of how to recognise the false spirits and how to know that which is truly from the Lord. And the next thing is that whenever the tongues are interpreted by Dad I get a lot of faith by the spoken word of God. I just get it immediately into my spirit and it brings faith mixed with lots of praises. Many times the flesh doesn't like to praise the Lord but since I have heard the Goodwins minister a big freedom of praise and worship has come to me, praise the Lord for His wonderful love given freely to us all.
