Rev. WFP Burton (1886 - 1971) | List of WFP Burton Recordings: Evangelism and Money Part I Evangelism and Money Part II My Africa Testimony Not Without Blood Testimony of an Apostle Please scroll down to access these recordings | Short Bio: Born in the natural in 1886 in Liverpool England, WFP Burton was born again in 1905. He was filled with the Spirit in 1911. After being turned down for missionary work by several missionary societies, Burton set out for Africa in 1914 by faith and with no promise of support from any organization. Later he was joined by James Salter--Smith Wigglesworth's son-in-law--and together they raised up a missionary work in what was then called the Belgian Congo. The mission prospered and expanded greatly through the 30 years of being overseen by Burton. In the early 1960's Burton was forced to leave the Congo when a new government took over. However, his mission still exists today. Burton ministered in numerous meetings with Smith Wigglesworth, the Jeffreys brothers, Stanley Frodsham, and Burton died on the same day as his friend, Howard Carter. This man, whose ministry was accompanied by integrity, sound doctrine, good fruit, moral living, and miracles, signs and wonders, was a good example of an genuine modern Apostle. | Descriptions and Live Stream Links: "My Africa Testimony" Rev. WFP Burton Copyrighted Recording Length: 57 Minutes Live Stream In this treasured recording, Brother Burton gives a fascinating, moving, beautiful testimony of God's ability demonstrated yet again and again in missionary work in Africa. He tells of companions who died along the way, or who became discouraged and turned back. He tells of fighting sickness, and being near death numerous times from fevers and illnesses. Then he was struck down with colon cancer and was sent home to die. But the God who hears and answers prayer healed him and raised him back up.
"Evangelism and Money Part I" Rev. WFP Burton Copyrighted Recording Length: 29 Minutes Live Stream Rev. Burton speaks extensively on the subject of prosperity, motives, and the funding of ministry. He gives the best explanation I've ever heard on the scripture in which Christ says, "Make to yourselves friends of the unrighteous mammon of the world." When you hear Burton's frank statements in this recording, the fact is driven home to you that you are indeed listening to a man of integrity. If you ever wondered what Pentecostal ministers of the generation of Burton, Frodsham, and Wigglesworth thought about money and ministry, you hear it bluntly in this recording. Keith Malcomson, Director of the School of Christ in Limerick, Ireland for sending me the recording entitled "My Africa Testimony." For those of you who are interested in reading further about WFP Burton an brief online biography can be read by clicking HERE. Also, Rev. Malcomson offers an inspiring biography of this giant of the faith, entitled "Into Africa." I have read this biography, and the story of WFP Burton is truly unforgetable. There was a tremendous Pentecostal move of God in England and in Europe of which most modern Charismatics and Pentecostals are entirely ignorant. To expand your understanding of the English and European Pentecostal move, what God was doing years ago, and what He is still doing today, please visit Brother Keith's website: www.pentecostalpioneers.org. I am very grateful also to WFP Burton's great neice, who helped track down for us additional Burton recordings that had been published by Salt and Light Ministries, and for their willingness to allow us to host these recordings. |
